We mean link to what you want, Jase. Even if we wanted to, a lot of the stuff posted on this site isn't for us to share. And once your site is up and running, we'll be happy to link to you. No problems.

What is music universe mang? Do you have a link?

Use what you want from here Jase.

Cool.

Ive checked out your website. I like what I see.
Im managing a blog at the moment and in the production of turning it into www.musicuniverse.com.au.

Let's be friends and create links to eachother so we can take over the world!!!

Filmmaker Wayne Ewing, well-known for his three documentaries about the late Gonzo journalist Hunter Thompson, has a new film, The Outsiders of New Orleans: Loujon Press, premiering at the Starz Denver Film Festival November 11, 2007. DVDs of the one-hour film will be on sFale for Christmas at www.loujonpress.com If you or someone at your organization would like to review the film, please advise to whom and where we can send a screener.

In The Outsiders of New Orleans: Loujon Press Louise “Gypsy Lou” Webb, now well into her nineties, tells the story of how she and her husband Jon Webb published the avant-garde literary magazine The Outsider from a small apartment in the French Quarter in the early 1960’s. By day Gypsy Lou sold paintings on street corner, and by night she set the type that introduced the world to the beat poet Charles Bukowski whose work Jon Webb also chose for their first two Loujon Press books– It Catches My Heart In It’s Hands and Crucifix in a Deathhand. The books are now rare collectibles, along with two others by Henry Miller, also hand-crafted and published by the Webbs.

Gypsy Lou and Jon Webb’s story is about their love for each other and their dream of publishing great literature. Such eccentricity emerged from the unique culture of the 1950’s French Quarter where Tennessee Williams held court at the Bourbon House and Charles Bukowski came to drink with strangers while the Webbs labored in their apartment on Royal Street.

Ta!

J.

How you going? I was just thinking about you yesterday, that's freaky. I was thinking about that gig you and I and nathan saw years and years ago -- the Menstruation Sisters? And I thought, fark, I should probably send J an email.

Well, here's mine: dunepilot65@hotmail.com

Once and always a brownster

Hello Browners

It's been a while since I've cast an eye over the brownnoise website and it's good to see that it's been fashionably updated and has heaps of mad stuff on it.
Might I add a teensy bit of critism. There are a couple of live reviews and an interview that I submitted (Ryan Adams, PUSA, and Lee Scratch Perry) which have had my name removed from them. I was happy to contribute them to the site but would like to have my name credited for them. Former brownnoise member Phil (who apparently is getting very used to the Japanese lifestyle) is the one who put me onto your website.
I've got some more interviews to contribute (Swedish heavy metal band HammerFall) if you like so more to add.

Take it easy brownteam

Matty S

The reviews that you mention have got your name on them. You just need to open the review (click "Read More"). Your byline is at the end of the article.

This is a bit of a problem because, at a casual glance, it does appear as if the person who has posted ("submitted") the article is claiming authorship -- when that is, in fact, not the case. I know at least one other writer whose material we post has thought the same thing: ie that they weren't being credited.

Unfortunately, Drupal, the software we use to run the site, does put the name of the poster (as distinct from the writer) in a very prominent position, which can cause confusion.

What I've started doing is putting the name of the writer at the very start of the review so that there's no confusion about the authorship of any piece posted. I did this for the entire film section only a few days ago; see here for an example. I'll do this for all the other material written by writers who aren't members. But as you can imagine, Matt, there's a lot of material posted on the site, and it'll take a while to reformat it all in this way.

But to allay your concerns: don't worry, you definitely ARE credited for everything you write. And we do appreciate anyone who allows us to post their material on BNU. And if you have other material, please send it to Phil or me at mang underscore glider at yahoo dot com dot au.

-Hans

UPDATE (17/12): Done. I've reformatted the pieces in question so that your byline appears at the top not the bottom. -Hans

I've made five signs for you but thought I'd be able to attach them to an email and send them through.

Is there an email address I can send them to? I created a different sign for each option available on the site.

Cheers,

BEVIS.
